MKS Special Piece
MKS Special Piece djembes, by Mohamed Kaleb Sylla, represent Koma Drum's top-tier djembes. Every Koma shell is stored for a curing period of three years or more, to ensure that wood is 100% dry. From that cured stock, Mohamed hand-picks only the very best shells - shells of the highest quality of wood, and most balanced proportions and symmetry. He then spends one to two days finish-carving each shell, making them as close to perfect as possible. Some of our MKS Special Pieces receive intricate decorations, and some are left without decorative carving (for those who prefer simplicity).
